. Library of the Upper Austrian Provincial Museums

The library of the Upper Austrian Provincial Museums is a specialized technical library, which serves the scientific work of the house and is available to the interested public. It is particularly well stocked in the areas of archaeology, ancient and early history, art history, numismatics and biology, but literature on geology and palaeontology, folklore, ethnology, cultural history and regional studies of Upper Austria is also comprehensively represented. In addition there are highly valuable, old specialized dictionaries and reference works as well as numerous technical journals. Extensive special collections such as historical maps, manuscripts, autographs, music, old playing cards and portraits supplement the holdings. The estate libraries of Alfred Kubin (Zwickledt) and Hans Frank (Photo Museum in Bad Ischl) are administered from here.
