. "Understanding history and culture"

It is very important for the mediation team of the Castle Museum to make the history of our province alive and understandable for the visitors. On the one hand historical facts are packed into stories; on the other hand originals from the collections that can be touched make it easier to understand our cultural history.

We offer programmes for the following target groups:

 - Children and youth

 - Adults

 - Families

 - Kindergartens and preschools

 - Schools and day-cares

 - Teachers

. For adults and families

For adults the Castle Museum offers general and specialized tours of the permanent and special exhibitions.

Collection insights: Every first Saturday of the month at 2:00 pm, we offer alternating tours of the various collections.

Museum on Sunday: Every Sunday at 3:00 pm, tours through the current special exhibitions are held.

Family Sunday: On every first Sunday of the month all families are cordially invited to get to know the Castle Museum with free entrance. Activity sheets (for children from 8-12 years old) are prepared for all exhibitions. These contain information, puzzles and games especially for children. In this way families can discover the exhibitions of the Castle Museum alone - without a tour.

3. “CRECHE SHOW” with the special exhibit “CHRIST CHILD OR SANTA CLAUS”

“Stacherl” and “Jucheissa” accompany your through the wonderful collection of Upper Austrian nativity scene art.

4.“FEELING” - Sense 3: Touching, feeling and the Sixth Sense

An exhibit to understand through TOUCHING - many objects of the collection on this topic go literally “under the skin”. You will be able to “sense” yourself and feel as though in “seventh heaven”.
